Almost A Dirty Dozen with THE VIOLENT INZIDENT – May 2022

According to a recent press release: “UK Based Post-Nu-Metal-Sub-Core supergroup THE VIOLENT INZIDENT have released the official music video for “Nu Metal,” off of their upcoming LP, This Is Nu Metal!. Consisting of highly talented musicians who may or may not be members of other very well known non post Nu-Metal bands, The Violent Inzident is: Tiny D – Wannabe rapper douchebag; C – man – The guy who can actually sing; Bin man – Bass and broomstick; Adidasshole – Guitar and sportswear; Monkeybird – DJ / samples / electronic noises and other unimportant things you can’t hear at all; and General Jerkhov – Pots and pans. The band will be kicking off a UK tour on May 25th which includes a stage show that will make KISS look like your mates playing “Enter Sandman” at school assembly and Steel Panther sound like your Dad telling jokes at Christmas dinner.” We get the band to discuss new music, influences, and more…

1. Tell us a little about your latest release. What might a fan or listener not grab the first or second time they listen through? Are there any hidden nuggets you put in the material or that only diehard fans might find?

Tiny D: Our debut album This Is Nu Metal! is out now!   We are the greatest sub post nu core metal band ever and you should all dust off your baggy trousers and wallet chains cos it’s about 1000 times better than anything else coming out these days! As for hidden nuggets.. buy the digipack version and they come with a free 6 pack from KFC. Yes I know our jokes are hilarious.

2. What got you into music, and can you tell us about the moment you realized you wanted to be a musician?3.Building on that, is there a specific song, album, performer, or live show that guided your musical taste?

General Jerkhov: We actually  started in the pre post nu metal period of 1995 but then other bands who found out about our super secret musical formula started coming out, like SOAD , Linkin Park, Deftones… so we decided to postpone our release by 25 years to give everyone else a chance, but now we’re here so its singalongs at the nu metal retirement home for these guys!

3. If you could call in any one collaborator to do a song with, who would it be, and why?

Five Finger Death Punch because they are the 2nd greatest nu metal band ever.

4. What is your favorite activity when out of the studio and/or not on tour? What do you like to do to unwind?

Beat the meat on repeat.

5. How would you describe your music to someone who’d never listened to you before? What is the one comparison a reviewer or fan has made that made you cringe or you disagreed with?

Tiny D: Our music is all the best bits of nu metal put together. If you haven’t noticed , most nu metal albums have only 2 or 3 good songs.  So 25 years later, what you’ve all been waiting for is finally here!

6. When your band is hanging out together, who cooks, who gets the drinks in, and who is first to crack out the acoustic guitars for a singalong?

No time for cooking or acoustic Oasis singalongs here mate. We are always trying to be as nu metal as possible at all times so if its not working on our reverse limbo arse sticking out chest as close to the ground as possible headbanging, its complaining about our parents, extending out wallet chains, and searching clothing shops for baggier jeans than the next guy.

7. When was the last time you were starstruck and who was it?

Adidasshole: The last time I looked in a mirror.

8. What is the best part of being a musician? If you could no longer be a musician for whatever reason, what would be your dream job?

Megan foxes underwear drawer.

9. What is one question you have always wanted an interviewer to ask –and what is the answer? Conversely, what question are you tired of answering?

Adidasshole: I would like just ONE hot female interviewer one day to ask if I could take her out the back and give her a good rogering but unfortunately this has never happened.

General Jerkhov: I’m sick of people asking us if we are a joke band. We are as serious about our music as Machine Gun Kelly.

10. Looking back over your career, is there a single moment or situation you feel was a misstep or you would like to have a “do over,” even if it didn’t change your current situation?

Tiny D: I would go all the way back to the Oscars of 2022 and politely inform  Will Smith that Chris Rock had sexual intercourse with his wife just like his sons friend so don’t stress mate.

11. If you could magically go back in time and be a part of the recording sessions for any one record in history, which would you choose –and what does that record mean to you?

Monkeybird: I would go back and replace the keg Metallica used on “St. Anger” for a snare with the keg slipknot used on “Duality” as it has a much more defined warmer and sonically pleasing tone to it and really brings out the bite at 4.7k to compliment the picking of the guitars.
