Skillet rolled into Indy to headline Winter Jam 2022. The Christian based event is now in its 27th year bringing fans of all ages out for a night of music, faith and spiritual growth. Over 10 bands of all genres participated in the 6-hour event. Skillet headlined with an elaborate stage setup, new music from their new album Dominion just released two weeks ago, and their message of spirituality. Lead singer John Cooper discussed the trying times we are facing with the pandemic, social media pitfalls, and growing loss of faith. His uplifting message was well received by the huge crowd which exceeded expectations so much that it required opening up new sections in the fieldhouse. They kicked things off with “Feel Invincible” as towering flames cast an orange hue over the stage. They cooled things down the next song with CO2 canons, two of which were strapped to Cooper’s arms as he shot them out into the crowd. Their set included two songs from Dominion with remainder being their greatest hits. The crowd was loud and engaged. Skillet certainly delivered another great rock n’ roll show to cap of Winter Jam 2022.
