Armed with this year’s best press release (“We are Thunger… and we rock”) and a modern rock sound that is both referential and individual, Finland’s Thungur made a late 2017 splash with this debut, and if you can imagine elements of Stone Temple Pilots, Foo Fighters and Mastodon happily co-habiting, then you can picture their sound (in a broad sense).

Heavy, catchy, thoughtful – this isn’t a party record, by any means, but it packs a mighty punch.
