Jimmy Eat World is back on tour in support of their 9th studio album Integrity Blues released back in October. Hailing from Mesa, AZ the alt rockers have been making great music since 1993. Their success endures with the current single “Sure and Certain” peaking in the top 10 hit of Billboard’s alternative chart. Jimmy Eat World has been selling out venues on their current tour and The Mill and Mine was no exception. A full house welcomed the group to town on a Spring-like Monday evening. There were fans young and old reflecting the group’s sustained success and current appeal. They hit the ground running with “You and Me” from their latest release. The setlist was diverse and covered the spectrum of the band’s work. They were all business in the presentation, seamlessly moving from song to song. Lead singer Jim Adkins told only one short story and stopped one other time to comment on a sign a young fan was waving throughout the night. They played well over 20 songs before taking a well-deserved break. They returned for a three song encore which included “The Middle,” “Sure and Certain” and ending with the timeless alt classic “Sweetness.” The crowd certainly got their money’s worth tonight and that will make getting up early tomorrow seem a little easier after a late Monday night.
