Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic 1880’s tale of good versus evil is given a sexy and stylish 1930’s revamp in this Charlie Higson-helmed series starring Tom Bateman as the titular Doctor who has inherited his Grandfather’s violent alter-ego.
Here, Jekyll returns to London from Ceylon, where he had been cared for by his foster father Dr Vishall Najaran, and quickly comes to the attention of the British intelligence service and the mysterious Tenebrae organisation. Discovering his true identity and birthright, Jekyll works to create an antidote to the super-strong, almost Hulk-like Hyde.
Featuring excellent CGI, superb production values and terrific performances – especially from Bateman as the conflicted Jekyll and Richard E Grant as the mysterious British intelligence officer Sir Roger Bulstrode – Jekyll & Hyde is a gripping update of the age-old tale, and hard to not binge-watch in one sitting.
