Seventrain - cover

There’s some serious rock chops on show on Seventrain’s debut album, which collects the talents of ex-members of a variety of South Californian bands (Cage, 24-7 Spyz, Kofi Baker, 6ONE9, Dive Bomber) to form a muscular rock/metal hybrid.

Whilst Seventrain may not be doing anything completely new (who is, nowadays?) they do tackle their songs with confidence and a tempered aggression – they never go full metal, preferring to keep their riffs huge but their delivery firmly grounded in hard rock.

It’s an approach which works, and the fivesome deliver some great heavy rock on How Does It Feel, Pain an the gentler, more emotive Bittersweet Seduction.
