The Veebees - Outta Ammo cover

Possibly the most bogan thirty or forty minutes ever committed to tape, The Veebees’ Outta Ammo is the mayhemic product of a bunch of yobbos taking alternate skulls from a carton of tinnies, and every mullet-sporting Aussie pub rock outfit that ever mattered.

Mostly recorded live in a bedroom in Bulli, New South Wales on Australia Day 2013, the band’s self-dubbed ‘Grog Rock’ couldn’t be any more Aussie if it tried, with AC/DC-and-Angels-ey riffs vying for attention with an archetypal Oz Rock four-on-the-floor rhythm section and Norro’s vocal stylisations (described in the attached press release as ‘the love-child of Sir Les Patterson and Rodney Rude!)

With song names such as Doin’ Er Up, Meet My Middle Finger, Fair Dinkum Rock n’ Roll, Dickheads Anonymous, I Got Nuthin’, Tommo’s Gone To Argentina… you get the idea!

Along the way you’ll hear hints of Rose Tattoo, Hard-Ons, TISM and Cosmic Psychos, alongside some of the funniest un-PC lyrics this side of Kevin Bloody Wilson (‘when I got home from work late this arvo/ She wouldn’t crack me a can/ And if you can’t do that I’m gunna have to send you back to wife school’ – Wife School)

It’s not intended to be taken too seriously (at least, I hope not!), these blokes just wanna get pissed and have some fun – and as the closing song says: ‘I Can’t Get Enough Rock n’ Roll’! ‘STRAYA!
