Hailmary – Debut Album Release – East Coast/West Coast Tour (Feb-Mar)

2013 is shaping up to be the biggest year yet for Perth’s Hailmary as they launch their debut Album “Choice – Path – Consequence Solution” to the West Coast / East Coast Tour (Feb 14-Mar3) including playing the renowned “28 band 3 stage”  “Rock the Bay” Festival at The Espy on Saturday February 16 with The Beards, Electric Mary, Sleepsmakeswaves, Engine Three Seven, New Skinn, Sleep Parade, King of the North, Bellusira, Moroccan Kings and High Side Driver just to name a few.

Hailmary continue to build a solid fan base in Melbourne and regional Victoria, evidenced by this being their 4th tour to the music capital in the last 12 months.  Along with Rock The Bay, the tour include dates with Melbourne’s own EMPRA, The Mercy Kills and Destroy She Said in both regional (Ballarat, Geelong, Bendigo) and metro Vic.
The former WAMi Award round off the Tour with 4 dates of West Coast showcase gigs in Perth, Albany, Bunbury and Fremantle (Feb 28-Mar 3) sharing the stage with EMPRA in their lead up to their USA tour.

FULL BIOGRPAHY
Originating from one of the most isolated cities in the world, Perth hard rockers, Hailmary are rapidly becoming a shining example of what the modern rock world has to offer, combining big grunge tinged riffs with a classic rock approach.

With a passionate delivery and hard work ethic, this is a band that isn’t afraid to step out of their comfort zone.  This was evident when they spent2 months in the United States recording their debut Album  “Choice – Path – Consequence Solution” (release 2012 West Coast / 2013 East Coast) with world renowned Producer, Jeff Tomei (Jerry Cantrell of Alice in Chains, Smashing Pumpkins, Matchbox 20, Corrosion of Conformity) at the Cock of the Walk Studios in Atlanta, Georgia.

In February 2012, the band released the first single from the Album, a split A side called “Reminiscence / Two Wrongs”.  In support of this release Hailmary toured the East Coast three times in 2012, including playing at the inaugural Rock N Load Festival at The Espy in Melbourne as well as sharing the stage with some of Melbourne’s best up and coming rock acts including Electric Mary, King of the North, My Left Boot, Bugdust and The Charge.

The debut Album takes Hailmary’s sound to another level with tracks like “Yellow Light of Death” and “Monday Mundane” showcasing the bands’ heavier side, whilst “Reminiscence” and “Running Away” offer a more commercial sound.   The Album also features guest bassist Josh Sattler, formerly of Atlanta based DoubleDrive and Speed X playing on three 3 tracks.

This was the second time that Hailmary had worked with Tomei in the USA, having recorded their second EP “A Million Miles and Days” with him in 2009.  Following this, Hailmary had the opportunity to play their first American shows, with a highlight gig at the Kennesaw State University.    Upon their return the EP was released to a “sold-out” crowd at Perth’s Amplifier Room and featured straight up rock tracks “Live it and Breathe” and “Brining out the Best”.  The EP has received international, national and state airplay on commercial, community, college and internet radio stations.

In 2006, their first year as a band, Hailmary won the 2006 WAMi Song of the Year Award (WA  Music Industry) in the heavy rock/metal category with a demo version of “Drag In Drag Out”. This track featured on their 2008 debut EP Release “Lottery of Life” which also included 2 further tracks which were finalists in the 2007 and 2008 WAMi’s in the same category.  The EP received acclaim by national press, often comparing it to the grunge sounds of the early 90’s with a modern edge.
