I know what you are thinking.  “What reason does a guy who listens to KISS, Black Veil Brides, and other metal acts have for listening to Tyrone Wells’ latest effort?”  It’s this simple – I appreciate good music, regardless of the genre.  Even more to the point, good songwriting is good songwriting.  Trust me folks, Tyrone Wells is a good musician and songwriter.  You tolerated my review of Barry Manilow’s most recent release.  Give me even less leeway here than you granted me previously and I will hopefully make you a believer, just as I have become, in Tyrone’s talent.

“Freedom” jump starts the soul and this disc.  Within 30-seconds, I couldn’t stop my foot from tapping.  This is a feel-good song that really starts things off in the right direction.  “You’re The One” is next and Tyrone’s emotionally charged voice really lulls you into your happy place.  Next up is “I Can’t Save You Now.”  After a slow start, this song picks up the pace and is perfect at keeping the album flowing.  The music is the real gem here.  “Satellite” demonstrates Tyrone’s lyrical ability.  He single-handedly describes what lovers have been trying to do for years – describe how beautiful a loved one is to him.  I picture myself on a starlit evening reciting these words to my beautiful wife.

“The Most” is a catchy tune that again, gets the feet tapping.  It’s funny how certain albums and songs come into your life at specific times.  This song found me when I needed it “the most.”  The lyrics nearly brought me to tears in light of certain happenings in my life over the recent past.  “Head Over Heels” is a great kick-back with that special someone and enjoy the moment kind of song.  How does he do it?  It seems every song seems to get stronger as you listen through the disc.  Continuing the good vibes is “Run Away With Me.”  This songs completes the hat-trick of songs you wish you had written to that special someone.  It isn’t heralding the “let’s run from our trouble” theme that you find in many songs, but rather an “I’d love to spend the time with you” sentiment.  Title track “Where We Meet” slows down the mood, while keeping the mood introspective.

“Don’t Be Afraid” is a good song, but doesn’t seem to fit the flow of this disc.  Don’t get me wrong, it is a good song… even a great song by another artist, but when put up against other songs here, it just doesn’t seem to fit in.  “You Still Love Me” returns the disc to its proper course.  The chorus defines the way feel about my wife many times: “You know everything about me, but somehow you still love me.”  Even if you didn’t like the rest of the disc, this song would make it worth the price of admission.  This is truly a beautiful song that takes my mind, heart, and breath away.  Disc closer “A Way Out” is a perfect end to the ride.  This disc will not leave my rotation for some time… as a matter of fact, I just went and ordered two other discs from this talented guy.

All I can say is “Thank you Tyrone for putting  emotion and reality back into the songwriting process.”  You helped show me on this little trip, love is truly “Where We Meet.”
