1. Disintegration – The Cure
This record is my relaxation record. If I’m stressed or unhappy or even just need to chill I’ll chuck it on and it instantly makes me feel better.
2. Songs Of Faith And Devotion – Depeche Mode
We toured Australia with Depeche Mode for this album.
It’s probably still the highlight of playing in Caligula for me. Every song on this album brings back such wonderful memories for me.
3. Killing Joke – Night Time
The Very first time I heard the single “Love Like Blood” from this album I knew this was the band for me.
I’ve been trying to emulate the singer, Jaz Coleman’s, voice ever since.
4. The Smiths – The Queen Is Dead
Another album I can listen to on repeat. Morrisey’s voice a very warm companion to Johnny Marr’s dazzling guitar work.
5. Violent Femmes – Violent Femmes
Probably the first album that I found myself knowing every single word to every song.
It was a staple at house parties in the 80’s when I was a kid and is still just as brilliant to me now as it was then.
and about playing on the SPRING LOADED bill…
We did a lot of touring in the 90’s but rarely shared the same bill as a lot of the bands on Spring Loaded – we were always off on our own.
We feel like the weird kid at school that was finally invited to a party with all the cool kids!
