Ernest Borgnine is at his creepy and malicious best in this Wes Craven effort from 1981, which also features a young Sharon Stone in her first serious speaking role.

Martha Schmidt (Maren Jensen)’s husband dies in a bizarre tractor incident once night, and she becomes more and paranoid as Isaiah Schmidt (Borgnine) and his Hittite sect label her the Incubus and try to drive her and best friend Lana (Stone) out.

Martha’s husband was Isaiah’s eldest son, and the preacher is all too willing to label every strange occurrence in town at her feet. When more people start dying – and Craven uses shadows, spiders, snakes, seriously chilling music and more to get maximum shocks from his audience – viewers are left wondering who is responsible?

Craven double loads the ending with not one but two completely unexpected twists – the second of which is even more mental than the first. Don’t miss it!
