I get it… why would a music photographer and reviewer check out a live show from The Naked Magicians? Quite simply put, I was intrigued and wanted to see something I had never seen before as well as cover something that I believed would rock. And rock it did! The show kicked off and from the first moments of the show until the final strand of clothing was shed and the final effects filled the venue, the Aussie duo brought the house down. The co-stars of the show, Mike Tyler and Christopher Wayne were full of fun, tricks, and a shitload of innuendo, all while taking their clothes off. Between taking pictures, enjoying the show, and watching the packed venue take in the show, it was a magical night for everyone that found their way to the Music Hall. While the naked may be the draw, the tandem of Mike and Christopher work well together with each other and the audience and keep the show moving and fun. With each trick, joke, and interaction, the crowd was drawn in and the show moved by in a flash. Sex sells, but it fizzles when the concept and content isn’t good – and that is definitely not the case with The Naked Magicians… these guys are the perfect combination of sexy, mystery, and fun. With each joke, I found myself laughing along with a packed audience; with each trick, I wondered to myself how they made certain things happen (no spoilers here folks); and with each innuendo, I reverted back to a 13 year-old giggling at the “dirty jokes.” I was fortunate enough to meet both Mike and Christopher before the show – believe me, their love for what they do and their attitude is genuine. Watching them interact with members of the audience throughout the show and again after the show was fun and refreshing to witness. If you have the opportunity, be sure to check out The Naked Magicians – it is the one of the best nights you will spend with your clothes on while others are taking theirs off. As far as rocking… the magic, the jokes, the fun, and the abs in this show rock – 100%. All told, I have never in my life heard so many women state they were glad they came… and so was I!
