Two volumes from Hachette’s Healthy Living series, these simple cookbooks reflect the recent long overdue healthier upswing in our society.
Green’s collection of clean soups includes detox plans designed to increase skin health, reduce stress, boost energy and aid digestion – including a simple guide to customising your own soup-based detox plan.
With 69 vegetable soups – many vegetarian and vegan, though some do include chicken, beef and fish stocks – Green has included easy to follow recipes, and minimalist though colourful pictures.
Whether you’re after a full detox program, or just some easy ideas for tasty, healthy soups, this is the book for you.
Helm Baxter does a similarly thorough job with her collection of Salads In A Jar – tapping even more into the current trend for convenience and health.
Designed to “reenergise your lunch time, while boosting your immune system, aiding your digestion and enhancing your skin,” Helm Baxter’s salads are layered in Mason jars to avoid going limp or soggy (and there are extra tips for this), and present 57 colourful salads, and 11 tasty dressings to delight your taste buds.
Again mostly vegetable and legume based, but not entirely vegetarian or vegan, the variety on offer is key, and just looking through these recipes and bright, cheery photos is enough to make anyone hungry.
