Like most dog people, I love these sort of books. There’s not much to them – they are just a collection of photographs of dogs, after all – in this case, dogs with eyes shut, anthropomorphically contemplative and zen-like.
Photographer Alex Cearns has shown no favouritism, featuring golden retrievers, beagles, bulldogs, poodles, huskies, pit bulls and German shepherds across eighty photographs, all of which warm the heart and give us a little hope that perhaps our best furry friends do indeed have a soul and a deeper understanding of the universe than perhaps even us – or at the very least, cats.
Some other stuff you might dig
