LIVE: YOUNG THE GIANT – November 1, 2015 (Knoxville, TN)
Venue: Tennessee Theatre
City: Knoxville, TN
Date: November 1, 2015
Review and Photographs by: Jeffrey Everett
Young the Giant stormed into the Tennessee Theatre to a nearly capacity crowd. The show was rescheduled from this Spring, but that didn’t seem to affect the fans one bit. The group thanked everyone for coming out, and kept dialogue to a minimum, saying they wanted to focus on playing more music. The one thing they did divulge was a new studio album is in the works and will hopefully be ready for release soon. YTG opened the show with “Day Dreamer” as everyone rose to their feet. The crowd was loud and complete with adoring chants during breaks between songs. The band sounded great and lead singer Sameer Gadhia was jumping all over the stage and reaching out into the crowd. They played nearly every song from their 2 studio releases. They took a short break and came back to the stage for three encore songs, ending with “My Body.” It was a great show with lots of music, an energetic crowd and an engaged group.
Setlist: Day Dreamer – I Got – Eros – Guns Out – Paralysis – It’s About Time – Waves – Cough Syrup – Fire Light – Strings – Anagram – Teachers – Mind Over Matter – Apartment – Islands – My Body
