Brick Wheels - book cover

Warren Elsmore’s step-by-step instructional Brick Wheels shows enthusiasts how to build a myriad of vehicles from Lego, from a tractor to a double decker bus to a fuel tanker and steam train, to a container ship, submarine and even Da Vinci’s Flying Machine and the Apollo Landing Craft!

The book’s instructions are simple to follow and easily lay out which pieces you’ll need so you can be well-prepared before starting (there’s nothing worse than getting three quarters through and realising you’re a piece or two short) and is jam-packed with photos of other vehicles for you to have a shot at creating yourself without accompanying instructions.

Elsmore prefaces the instructions with a few short essays, covering naming the different types of Lego bricks, the history of the Lego wheel, science of the bricks, and some tips on mosaics and stop-motion work with Lego. There’s even a small piece on storing your blocks and some online resources & Lego Events to visit should you want to ramp your obsession up a notch, all proving that the days of Lego being ‘merely’ a kids toy are long gone.
