The Driftwood Sign hail from Malmö in Sweden’s deep south, just across the water from Copenhagen and Denmark, and we’re used to hearing good old dirty rock n’ roll or full-frontal metal from those parts – but here we have something altogether different indeed.

Boasting more in common with the likes of Alter Bridge or Filter than Hardcore Superstar or Space Lizard, The Driftwood Sign deliver a very solid EP here, featuring five tracks of riff-heavy, melodic rock.

Opening track Leech and No Longer Young really impress, with Anders Ekenstierna’s classic rock vocals sending the songs soaring skywards, and Disorder – remastered here from its original mid-2014 video release, mixed by none other than Beau Hill – closes the record in fine form.

As assured as these tracks are, more gigging and recording will doubtless refine The Driftwood Sign’s sound into something more unique, and then we’ll really be in for a treat from these Swedes.
