Guttercats Whiskey Avenue EP

There’s a rough charm to The Guttercats debut EP, which positively bursts at the seams with enough enthusiasm, cheekiness and buzzsaw guitar action to more than compensate for any shortfall in production values or virtuosity.

Dripping with sleaze and the promise of a sore head in the morning, the title track comes in two formats – ‘pissed’ and ‘sober’, the latter being more radio friendly lyrically, but the former having a looser and slinkier vibe.

I Wonder Who She’s Killing Now is pure bubblegum rifferama, reminding us of Sweet’s best head shaking stuff, and with cover art by sometime 100% ROCK MAG contributor, cartoonist Dave Howarth, Whiskey Ave is well worth a listen and might even be the soundtrack to your next hangover!
