In front of a packed, sweaty and near rioting sold-out crowd in Los Angeles on February 2nd, vocalist Matt Caughthran declared, “It’s been a long time coming.” That sentiment could not be truer. Five long years have passed since the band’s last proper release with a few of those spent gigging with their side project Mariachi El Bronx. And as critics continue to point out the band’s return could not have come sooner!!! Here’s what a few are saying…..
“The Bronx have made the most focused and diverse record of their career.” – Alternative Press
“The Bronx are back with riotous riffs and howling, shout-along choruses” – Rolling Stone
“The Bronx has turned rage and desperation into a perpetual state of being—and (IV) into a monument not just of survival, but also evolution.” – AVClub.com
“the band’s delivery of these dozen songs is consistently cathartic” – Boston Globe
“Forget the punk or hardcore labels — The Bronx are one of the top hard rock acts of the last decade.” – MetalSucks.net
“the songs still concentrate on packing as much of a punch as humanly possible” – AllMusic.com
“The Bronx are probably the finest punk band of this century” – Kerrang! KKKK
“None of the band’s bolshy character is lost on ‘Bronx IV’, but they do find new places to go.” – NME
“One of this generation’s greatest punk bands” – Metal Hammer 9/10
“There’s no one quite like The Bronx” – BBC.co.uk
“An early contender for Album Of The Year” – Big Cheese 5/5
The Bronx will wrap up their sold-out U.S. album release shows tonight at Bowery Electric in New York City, before heading across the Atlantic for a month long trek of the UK and returning in March for a string of shows as Mariachi El Bronx.
