Two singles from the highly-anticipated Punk Goes Pop Volume 5 have premiered today, The Maine‘s rendition of Cyndi Lauper‘s “Girls Just Want To Have Fun”, and Breathe Carolina’s version of Michael Jackson‘s “Billie Jean”.
Both tracks are featured on the forthcoming compilation Punk Goes Pop Volume 5. Set for release November 6th, Punk Goes Pop 5 is the latest installment in Fearless Records’ celebrated compilation series, and is now available for physical pre-order on MerchNow, and digitally on iTunes.
The Maine’s stunning cover of “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” features Adam Lazzara of Taking Back Sunday and was premiered this morning via MTV Buzzworthy.
“It’s a complete reboot of the Lauper track, with the original’s bouncy hooks twisted into a wounded melody and the synthesizers traded in for smoldering amps.” – MTV BUZZWORTHY
