Interview – filmaker, writer & director PAUL FENECH

In conversation with PAUL FENECH: 30 October 2012

Over our 15 minute chat we talked about his history making the SBS TV shows Pizza, Swift & Shift Couriers and Housos, and his latest film HOUSOS VS AUTHORITY (In cinemas in Australia TODAY).  We also talked at length about the political correctness scourge, professionalism, commercial networks, the many cameo stars he includes in his shows and a fair bit more besides.

What I took most from our brief chat before the interview and the interview itself was of a dedicated, cheeky, fun loving but professional man who knows what he wants and has never been afraid to go out and get it.  It’s this attitude – and knowing where the line is between work and play – that has earned him the reputation of being one of Australia’s most professional small film makers.  He gets the job done on time and on budget and he makes people laugh – as Paul says in our interview – that’s what comedy is about!  Enjoy.
