TRISTAN PRETTYMAN NEW ALBUM CEDAR + GOLD OUT TODAY ON CAPITOL RECORDS
October 2nd, 2012 — Hollywood, CA — Tristan Prettyman’s eagerly anticipated new album Cedar + Gold is out today on Capitol Records. Produced by Greg Wells (Adele, Katy Perry), Cedar + Gold is the San Diego-based singer-songwriter’s return to recording after a four-year extended break during which she traveled the globe, had vocal cord surgery, ended an engagement, and questioned whether she even wanted to be a musician at all. Prettyman chronicles the highs and lows of her journey on Cedar + Gold, whose title refers to both the cedar walls and ceilings in the home where she recovered from her break-up and the gold she spun from her situation in the songs.
Cedar + Gold has already earned raves, observes PEOPLE Style Watch “Soulful, shimmering songs about love and loss.” With Elle noting that it “catalogues her own music therapy, with a perfect balance between emotional rawness and Prettyman’s signature earthy resonance” and Marie Claire declaring that “breakup plus love lost equals a glorious lady-centric record.”
The album’s first single, “My Oh My,” is already approaching Top 10 at Triple A and Top 20 at Hot AC, and just debuted at #22 on the Mainstream AC chart. The infectious track is being spun at more than 100 radio stations across the country, while its video, which has been added at VH1, has racked up half a million views on YouTube. In addition, Prettyman is featured on Perez Hilton’s radio show today as part of his “New Music Tuesday” ADD LINK. “My Oh My” was also heard in last week’s season premiere of Grey’s Anatomy. Having wrapped up a summer tour with Joshua Radin, Prettyman will be on the road throughout the fall. Her upcoming confirmed tour dates are below. She will also follow up her recent performances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and The Artist’s Den Spotlight with an appearance on CBS This Morning on Saturday, October 6th.
