This disc saw its release in the UK and other countries back in 2011, but it will see its official release here in the United States in about a week.  This disc has been a long time coming here.  The bluesy voice coupled with the heavy riffs and pounding rhythm section equal happy listeners to this disc.

“Too Much,” is a perfect way to open this disc.  With its killer vocals, a little heavy chugging, and a guitar solo that sets the song ablaze, this is pure rock.  This track sets the mark.  The next couple tracks have a very 1970’s metal feel to them.  “Louder Than This” is another such track that feels like late 1960’s/early 1970’s Black Sabbath to me.  I don’t think they sound alike, but if Sabbath were a little more blues and less metal, this is what they would have sounded like.

“Devil Ride” is a track that, much like the first track, prompts foot tapping and even some head banging.  The guitar work is very good here, as are the clear vocals.  I hear Cult influences here and even a little Soundgarden.  The latter influence carries through quite a bit of the disc.  This is really evident on “Voice In The Rain.”

This is a great disc to help hold on to that lost art of bluesy heavy metal.  After a few spins of this one, I even ran out and ordered one of their previous efforts.  It is that good.  Why didn’t any of my Aussie friends ever introduce me to this band?  Thanks once again Steve – you have that sixth sense to know what I will like!!!
