BLUES AT BRIDGETOWN SECOND ARTIST ANNOUNCEMENT

The 32nd edition of Blues at Bridgetown, WA’s favourite springtime musical escape, is coming ‘round the mountain with a three-day feast of melodies and new memories.

With great pleasure we announce the second round of artists bringing their goodness for a weekend’s worth of amazing music from Friday-Sunday, November 8-10.

Honey vocals, dreamy synth and vibrant guitar riffs are fast becoming the signature of indie four-piece Death By Denim. Formed in 2016, the band is made up of close friends, Palle Mazzulla, Nikolas Ilidias, George Gunson and Hamish Macarthur. Their albums Sleepless and Sunkissed (2020) and Moonbow (2022) have seen Death By Denim chalk up over 85,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, an international deal with Paradigm Talent Agency and showcases at BIGSOUND50 and SXSW. The band’s latest offering, Lonely Beaches, was released last month and to celebrate they’ll be returning to the UK to perform shows for the second time in 2024… then Bridgetown eagerly awaits.

ISHAN is a 20-year-old Melbourne-based singer/songwriter with a rich tapestry of Indian, Swiss, and Spanish heritage. Born in France and relocating to Australia at a young age, ISHAN discovered his passion for music early, picking up a guitar at 7 and venturing into songwriting at 15 while recovering from spinal fusion surgery. After honing his skills and building a following through busking and live looping on Melbourne’s streets and sharing his performances online, ISHAN’s debut EP, The Cycle Of Codependence, released in November 2023, garnered attention from industry tastemakers such as Rolling Stone, triple j Unearthed and Tone Deaf.

Part soul funk juggernaut, part support group, part motorcycle gang, a simple idea born of friendship, beers and fatherhood has flourished and taken shape. The basic premise: a big band, big grooves, big boots… oh and you’ve got to be a dad to join. The Bad Dad Orchestra comprises of nine dads (and counting) who have played solid parts in the Launceston (TAS) band scene for the past decade. Together they’ve got hundreds of kids, hundreds of riffs and a big old bag of style and swagger. Shine up those dancing boots – it’s big, it’s bad and it’s dad.

Toby Beard is far more than just a singer-songwriter from Western Australia; she is a force of nature on stage. With her dynamic vocals and genuine lyrical talent, Toby captivates audiences, who are drawn to the authenticity and raw emotion of her performances. Her music is not just heard; it’s experienced. Toby’s touring life is as eclectic as her music, ranging from sold-out headline shows to festival slots, barnyard gigs, and intimate venues. Her reputation for an emotionally charged live performance, coupled with songs that make you move, precedes her wherever she goes.

Also adding their own touches of stardust will be Adam-James, Angie Colman, Charlie Youngson, Dan Howls, Kiera Jas, Legs Electric, Mossy Fogg, Odlaw, Tracey Barnett, The Winfield Blues Band and WhiskeyNips who will join with the previously announced…

John Butler, Dave Hole, South Summit, Little Quirks, Owen Campbell, Little Green, Checkerboard Lounge, Siobhan Cotchin, Smoke Stack Rhino, Frank Sultana, Laurel & The Painkillers, Louis Rebeiro & The Blues Machine, Boox Kid, The Floors, Joan & The Giants, Tom Fisher & The Layabouts, Brandie & Wise Trio, Rochelle O’Reilly, Whiskey Nips, Alexia Parenzee and Pat Tierney with many more to be announced very soon.
