Who could possibly guess that Finley the Reef Shark and his schoolmates Hunter the Tiger Shark, Gnash the Great White and Gilleon the Lemon Shark were members of ultra famous rock band Jawsome?!?

These unassuming teen sharks are mild-mannered schoolkids in Chumville by day, then by night they are a rock band with 15 krillion fans, and R Timmis has created a simple and fun, pun-crammed duo of tales here.

Pitched at emerging readers, these are simple stories with the emphasis on adventure and engagement – like all the best early reader books. Plus, with an added rock and roll edge, this is perfect for rock n’ roll parents to read with their future rock star kids.

Story 1 – Stage Bite – tells of Finley’s anxiety at filling in for their singer when she quits the band. Story 2 – Finvestigated – introduces us to Squidley, a new arrival at the school who wants to follow in his journalist mother’s fin-steps, and is determined to unmask the sharks behind Jawsome. Finley & Co, meanwhile, are busy with an investigation of their own – who’s behind the chum shortage and slime plaguing the town.

Kids and parents alike should get a kick out of Jawsome, and just as well since there are more volumes promised.
