Since 1989 Ringo Starr has been touring with variations of his All-Starr Band. The supergroup lineup includes Colin Hay (Men at Work), Hamish Stuart (Average White Band), Edgar Winter (Edgar Winter Group), Gregg Bissontte (drums), Steve Lukather (Toto), and Warren Ham (Toto). Friday night they came to Indy and were welcomed by a sold-out crowd at the Murat Theatre. The performance was divided into two sets, the first with Ringo and the second primarily with the All-Starr Band. The crowd rose to their feet as the band took the stage. Though an older crowd, everyone remained standing and were really engaged all evening. The diverse setlist featured covers from The Beatles, the respective groups of the All-Starrs and other classic hits. The crowd sang along with every song as the theatre was rocking. Ringo took a short break after Set 1 then returned for “Octopus’s Garden” and stayed for the remainder of the show playing drums on several songs. Their vocals were strong and instrumentals spot on. It was a great trip down memory lane and everyone had a blast. I would say this is a don’t miss show and worthy of making every effort to go if they are even remotely close to your hometown!
