Young the Giant brought their 2023 Summer Tour to Indy at the TCU Amphitheater at White River State Park on what turned out to be a gorgeous Sunday night after a stormy afternoon. The tour promotes the fall of 2022 release American Bollywood, their first album since 2018. The show began with rising star, TALK, highlighted by their alternative rock hit “Run Away to Mars.” Next up was Milky Chance out in support of their latest release Living in a Haze. They started off with “Synchronize” and followed up with a nice combination of old and new hits.

Young the Giant came out after a quick set change as the crowd rose to their feet. They opened with “American Bollywood” off their new album. Things heated up as they played their staple “Cough Syrup” as the crowd sang in unison. Later in the set Sameer Gadhia and company performed “Firelight” which he said they haven’t played live in years. A large disco ball lowered during the encore sending a shower of light beams throughout the amphitheater. They ended the night with “My Body” to wrap up a highly entertaining night of great music by all three acts.

Setlist: American Bollywood – Wake Up – Something to Believe In – Cough Syrup – The Walk Home – I Got It – Nothing’s Over – Dollar $tore – Cult of Personality – Heat of the Summer – Dancing in the Rain – Mind Over Matter – Firelight – Superposition – Tightrope – Silvertongue – My Body
