Hinder and The Machine Shop go back as far as 2005, as it was pointed out during the show. The crowd is always amazing, packed, and energetic and demands the best from the band. To kick the evening off, Hinder has Michigan’s own No Resolve out on the road with them and this was the openers 3rd show at the venue in less than two months. The band – Oscar James Pegorraro (vocals), Jason Hatmaker (guitars), Matty Shea (guitars/keys), Dennis Patterson (bass) and a drummer – Took the stage and the crowd welcomed the locals as the show began and they rocked the crowd for about an hour. The chain that separates the crowd and the stage was definitely pushed to its maximum as Oscar strained to be with the fans and they worked forward to be with the band. The set was packed with rockers that found the crowd singing along with the band word for word. The overall vibe and groove in the air grew with each song thanks to No Resolves control of their portion of the show, but you could also feel the anticipation as the set drew to a close and the minutes ticked until the headliners would take the stage. Without a crazy intro, bombastic lights or explosions, or an over the top entrance, Hinder took the stage clad in mostly white with some black highlights and proceeded to rock out as only they can do. They lit into songs the crowed yearned to hear, track after track. Founding members guitarist Joe “Blower” Garvey and drummer Cody Hanson led the charge with huge riffs and a monstrous backbeat that controlled the flow of the show. It was later revealed Hanson started the tour after cutting his hand and creating a brace that allowed him to play the hell out of his kit. Helping with the cadence and bottom end is long time member Mike Rodden who played bass and dropped some background vocals with high energy and a smile from opening tune to the last moments on stage. With songs that ran the gamut of their discography (with the exception of my personal fav Welcome To The Freakshow) the band through the hits into the air via the sound system and frontman Marshal Dutton perfectly delivered song after song, giving the fans from the front to he back exactly what they came for on a Tuesday night in June. A great addition to the Hinder musical fare was a pair of two new tracks and an Eagles cover that had enough balls and energy to blow the original out of the water in my opinion. Along for the ride on this tour is guitarist Justin Shipley. Moving through their set and heading toward the close of the show, the band worked through arguably their two biggest hits with “Lips Of An Angel” and “Get Stoned” with both songs standing the test of time as tracks from their debut release. Once the set had closed out, the capacity crowd filed into the night still abuzz from the music, energy, and overall good vibes from the show.
