Yacht Rock Revue is out on tour in support of their first original album Hot Dads in Tight Jeans. Known for their soft rock covers from the 70’s and 80’s, the band wrote and recorded the album true to spirit of the era they embrace. Members Nick Niespodziani and Pete Olson hail from Indiana and attended Indiana University. The band has a huge local following which was evident by the crowd size, many wearing their captain’s hats. It was a perfect summer night, clear and mild. The band took the stage decked out in polyester and bell bottoms true to the era. Only a few seconds into their first song, the stage went dark as a power outage hit the area. Not to let the lack of electricity derail the night, the guys picked up acoustic guitars and played The Eagle’s hit “One of These Night.” They took a short break until power was restored. Upon return, they promised to play their whole set as long as we were okay with staying a bit later. The crowd was on their feet singing in unison and dancing the entire night. In addition to their trademark soft rock covers, they included their original from the new album “Bad Tequila.” After twenty-five songs, they stepped off stage as the crowd screamed for more. They returned for an encore concluding the night with “Baker Street” and “More than Feeling.” The band played flawlessly and showed their musical talent. A fun trip down memory lane, they are a must see for lovers of soft rock hits.
