ALYSIA MANCEAU heads back to Perth
Sunday October 22 – Swallow Bar, Maylands, With Sarah Tout
Alysia Manceau elegantly weaves her psychedelic folk-rock balladry into a timeless musical landscape. Her haunting vocals soar across layers of clever instrumentation as confessional songs reveal tales of love and redemption.
With a solid following in the Melbourne music scene Manceau has supported the likes of Adalita (Magic Dirt) and Isaiah Mitchell (Earthless). Performing in bands such as The Velocettes, Ravenswood and Maggie Darlings she has collaborated alongside artists such as Rich Davies, Alison Ferrier, Layla Fibbins and Mandy Connell.
Her debut album The Longest Winter was recorded in Melbourne’s at Sing Sing South Studio with acclaimed engineer Anna Webster and American indie producer Kramer (Will Oldham, Low). The Longest Winter features Melbourne locals: James Bridges (Collards Greens Gravy), Ben Franz (The Waifs/The Stillsons), Pete Cuthbert, Adam Afiff (Roller One), Jason Bunn (Orchestra Victoria) and is available as an independent release via itunes and bandcamp.
A one time resident of Perth, Manceau returns to play on Sunday October 22 at Swallow Bar (198 Whatley Cresent Maylands). Local songstress Sarah Tout will start off the afternoon at 4pm with Alysia Manceau playing at 5pm. Entry is free but please come down early as capacity is limited.
