Razzamataz play puffed out chest, muscle shirt wearing, denim jean, cheeky grin AC/DC riff n’ roll, and they do it damned well, and with an edge of NWOBHM heavy metal.
It’s rock n’ roll the old fashioned way on this, their third album: razor sharp rhythm section powering along with metronomical precision, following an irrepressibly tight rhythm guitar, while the lead guitar strafes blues rock solos all over the shop. The gravelly vocals, extolling the virtues and vices of bad girls, good lovin’, bad cars, and the rock stardom ego-boosting ballad All Lights On Me.
Whilst they are obvious fans of Accadacca, it’s not all carbon copy love. Holy Molly and City of Dreams are heavier and boistrous, whilst the slower, heavy blues Back To You is positively Ozzy-like, and they sound great when stretching their boundaries.
AC/DC is still their bread & butter, though – their Ground Zero, if you will – as you’ll notice on Yes I Like It and Hole In The Wall, before That’s All I Want mixes things up again with more of a southern rock vibe. Gravy, baby.
