Breezy sunny afternoon blues perfect for soundtracking a few beers and a few laughs with a few friends, Tasmanian five-piece Avargo Groove’s debut EP is a relaxed six-track affair that’s sure to brighten your day.

Vocalist Gary Pine and guitarist Brett Pease have been writing songs together for about five years, during which time various bandmates came and went, and their collective name changed from Avago to Whatever, to Avargo, before ultimately settling on Avargo Groove.

Years of playing “everywhere from bohemian cafes to motorcycle gang clubhouses” have tightened the band to a slick, smooth groove – the Avargo Groove – and tracks like Roll With The Dice, the excellent Foot Steps, Friday Night’s homage to heading out to see your favourite local band, and the drank-too-much boogie of Chucking A Whitey, are all good fun for good times.
