Celebrating their 10 year anniversary in style, the progressive-rock band, Moon Taxi, took over The Mill & Mine for their inaugural Heart of The Valley winter ball. Fans were encouraged to ‘dress up to get down’ and arrive to the show dressed to the nines including suits, corsages, and the like. Spanning two days, February 24-25th, the band performed with openers ELEL and Los Colognes. The weekend event even boasted a “Hangover Brunch” meet and greet early Saturday, including mimosas with the band to help everyone rally for a second night in a row of late night music. Lead singer, Trevor Terndrup, and the band left it all on the stage, holding nothing back for easily their best Knoxville performance to date.

Moon Taxi never fails to impress, and in 10 years they remain to be nothing short of spectacular. Over the years, the five-piece Nashville based band has released four albums including: Cabaret, Mountains and Beaches, and Daybreaker. Filling the Mill & Mine to the brim two nights in a row, it’s easy to see that Moon Taxi attracts many devoted fans with their indie-rock sound and jam tendencies. The high energy show went non-stop for two hours, featuring an impressive lights show as well as a standout keyboard solo from Knoxville native, Wes Bailey. The set lists for both nights included the popular songs “Morocco”, “River Water”, and songs from their fourth studio album, Daybreaker. Ending the two day extravaganza, the band covered Rage Against the Machine’s song “Bulls on Parade”, and the crowd went berserk with dancing, head banging, and screaming all around. At the end of the weekend, Knoxville fans were left anxiously awaiting Moon Taxi’s return as well as their new album—expected to be released this coming summer.
