LIVE: 10 YEARS & FINGER ELEVEN – August 12, 2016 (Knoxville, TN)
Venue: The International
City: Knoxville, TN
Date: August 12, 2016
Review and Photographs by: Jeffrey Everett
Finger Eleven and 10 Years have teamed up for a summer acoustic tour. It only seemed fitting that it kicked off in Knoxville, home of 10 Years. The show was all ages, which brought in even more to the packed International. Finger Eleven took the stage first. While the musicians sat, lead singer Scott Anderson stayed on his feet to interact with the fans. Acoustic sets are a nice change of pace and work best with crowd participation. That was certainly the case as everyone was really into it and sang right along. During their final song, “Paralyzer” they broke out with “Another Brick in the Wall” where the mic was turned to the audience who belted out the lyrics. They gave way to our local rock favorites 10 Years after a short set change. Jesse Hasek said they built a backdrop to look like a living room earlier in the day. Complete with couches, the group seemed right at home as they opened with “Fix Me.” Jesse said it was different taking a relaxed approach and not being out the crowd during the show. They played a variety of songs from their 7 studio albums and added a cover of “Mad World.” Like Finger Eleven, the crowd sang along and created a great energy for night. Both groups killed it and each went next door the Concourse for an after party to mingle with fans. A perfect way to spend a Friday night!
