Moonshine self titled CD cover

Six hairy dudes playing no frills swampy bar blues n’ rock n’ roll like it was 1991 all over again (or has never not been), Moonshine don’t waste time trying to rewrite the rule book here – in fact they walk a fine line but manage to avoid straying over into clichéd territory.

The sheer exuberance and schwang Moonshine put into their rock n’ roll makes this debut album an irresistible listen: heartfelt rock played well with passion by a band of brothers will always light a fire. It doesn’t hurt that singer Derek Davis fronted cult hair metal faves Babylon A.D. either.

On the down-on-your-luck-but-staying-positive Warm Beer & Catfish Stew, a rollicking cover of CCR/John Fogerty’s Fortunate Son, the Alabama piano & slide Skynyrdisms of Last Song, the absurdly catchy homemade-moonshine-swilling Mama’s Kitchen Brew and southern pride anthem Southern Blood, Moonshine tick all the boxes for good time, down home rock n’ roll.
