The Space Ace was in blistering form at the last date of his first Australian tour in five years, playing a set almost equally split between early KISS classics and tracks from his solo and Frehley’s Comet albums.

Despite many of the KISS tracks getting roars of approval, if anything his current form – proving sobriety really agrees with him – is such that it was a shame he didn’t focus more on his own tracks, with barely anything played from Trouble Walkin’, for instance.

Despite that, with a shit hot band, especially Richie Scarlett on guitar and Scott Coogan on drums and vocals, we can only hope his return won’t be so long next time round.

Support acts Legs Electric and Psychonaut both entertained with strong rocking sets.
