Brooklyn By Way of Brazil – NY Locals UNCONSCIOUS DISTURBANCE Bring Their Brand of Ethnically-Influenced, Globally-Driven Metal to the Masses this Fall

| 29 October 2012 | Reply

For a better part of the past decade, Brooklyn, NY’s own UNCONSCIOUS DISTURBANCE has worked tirelessly to blaze a figurative trail of musical spectrum and complexity all the way from their beginnings in Sao Paulo, Brazil circa 1996. Big-city chaos fused with rhythmic instrumental lines is what generates the crushing and profound sonic experience that is UNCONSCIOUS DISTURBANCE.

These aspects and more are what set the band apart from the monotonous experimental music trends that the average fan and hipster music rag currently consider “influential” and “ground-breaking”. UD’s first major full-length release, Mind’s Corner, will undoubtedly be the first propellant in that discovery. Mind’s Corner is set to release on December 4, 2012 independently via the band and features eight dense and thought-provoking tracks.

To preview this release and spread the word, the band has scheduled several performances at select east coast venues. UD also plans to throw a record release party in Brooklyn, NY on December 6th at Trash Bar, as well as host a screening of their independently produced upcoming music video at an event dubbed “Crossing Boundaries”. UNCONSCIOUS DISTURBANCE is rooted in Sao Paulo, Brazil as far back as 1996, when drummer Daniel Freiberg and guitarist Patrick Caracas met and began playing together at the age of eight. This relationship formed into a friendship that would eventually evolve into a strong musical alliance. Years later in 2005, vocalist Frederico Carneiro joined Freiberg and Caracas, and UNCONSCIOUS DISTURBANCE was born.

The trio recorded their first demo at a local recording studio where sound engineer and bassist Fadel Dabien, upon hearing the music, was instantly captivated and joined the band. Shortly after, they began to hold auditions for a second guitarist. However they soon realized a diamond in the rough—Daniel Freiberg’s younger brother, Kiko Freiberg, who would eventually receive a B.A. in Music at Bard College, was a perfect fit. UNCONSCIOUS DISTURBANCE was now complete.

In 2007, after recording their first DIY EP, UNCONSCIOUS DISTURBANCE toured through Canada, where they performed nightly to impressed and captivated crowds, as well as many great fan reviews. After this tour is when Mind’s Corner, their band’s first major studio album, first transitioned from mind to music.

UNCONSCIOUS DISTURBANCE is:

Daniel Freiberg – Drums

Fadel Dabien – Bass

Frederico Carneiro – Vocals

Kiko Freiberg – Guitar

Patrick Caracas – Guitar
