There’s nothing worse than not being able to think of a word when you really need one. Afterliff may just solve the problem for you.

A sequel to The Meaning Of Liff and The Deeper Meaning Of Liff written by Lloyd and the late Douglas Adams 25-30 years ago, Lloyd and Canter have again taken place names from the United Kingdom and invented obscure meanings for them which are often hilarious and invariably fun.

Let’s face it, how many times have we all needed to pluck a ‘Arbuckle Junction’ (The point in the task where you realise it’s going to be a lot harder than you thought), a ‘Horning’ (Trying to establish, without asking directly, is a person you fancy is attached), Mevagissey (Stupefied by a display of Christmas lights on a suburban house that makes it look like a state-owned fairground in Hong Kong), Scrooby (A biro that runs out halfway through taking down a vital message) or Yafford (A dog that walks it’s owner)?
