Matterhorn - For True Fans Of Rock Metal cover

One of Australia’s premier classic rock tribute bands, Adelaide’s Matterhorn prove themselves more than capable of delivering excellent renditions of Ozzy’s Over The Mountain, Dio’s Don’t Talk To Strangers, Led Zep’s Immigrant Song, Diamondhead’s Am I Evil (referencing the Metallica version more than the original), Purple’s bluesy Mistreated, Sabbath’s Neon Knights and – perhaps most impressively of all – Iron Maiden’s epic 13:47 Rime Of The Ancient Mariner.

It’s all played wonderfully, Amanda Ozolins’ vocals are rich and true, and there’s no doubting their strong rock and metal credentials, but there’s the feeling that whilst this would make a great promo disc for promoters looking to book them for a gig, they are obviously such competent players that I’d be more interested in hearing what originals they could come up with.
