1. What will you be playing on the upcoming tour?
Beau: Mostly new songs off Hollow Bodies! A couple old favorites for the die hard fans.
2. What got you into music, and can you tell us about the moment you realised you wanted to be a musician?
Beau: My family has always been musically gifted. Although I don’t think I really thought about being a musician until I was a teenager. Watching Blink 182 onstage made me really want to start a band.
3. Who are your main five musical influences?
Beau: I don’t really have five. I’d say Blink 182 and Michael Jackson.
4. If you could call in any one collaborator to do a song with, who would it be?
Beau: Right now I’d love to work with [Chemical Romance singer] Gerard Way.
5. Who would be your dream band, living or dead?
Beau: Travis Barker [Blink 182] on drums, James Hetfield [Metallica] and Adam D [Killswitch Engage] on guitars and Dustin Davidson [August Burns Red] on bass.
6. How would you describe your music to someone who’d never listened to you before?
Beau: You know that feeling when it’s about 100 degrees outside and you’re stuck in the middle of a scorching hot desert and someone pours and bathtub of ice water all over you..? Yeah, that’s what our music is like: refreshing.
7. What’s the coolest thing that a fan has ever done for you?
Beau: One time a fan and her father hooked us up with a suite to a Lakers game. I was in heaven!
8. Any tips on how to keep in shape on the road?
Beau: Well, I play basketball every other day. Going for a jog is a great way to keep the cardio up. Also, don’t get caught eating fast food everyday. Spend the time and money on finding something good to eat.
9. What’s the best thing about being a muso?
Beau: Just being able to create, write and perform music for a living is a blessing.
10. What’s the worst part of touring?
Beau: Being away from the wife. She’s my anchor, so it’s tough having to go weeks without seeing each other.
11. Who was the last legitimate rock star you met in person?
Beau: Kobe Bryant [L.A. Lakers basketball star]. Does that count..?
12. When the band are all hanging out together, who cooks; who gets the drinks in; and who is first to crack out the acoustic guitars for a singalong?
Beau: Eric.
13. Which act would you like to just give up and go away?
Beau: Anything still combining metal and dub step.
14. What would the band’s superpowers be?
Beau: To float freely above and across crowds.
15. If you could make one band reform, who would you pick?
Beau: MCR [My Chemical Romance]
16. For the tech-heads, what equipment do you use?
Beau: Sennheizer E945 microphone
17. If you weren’t a muso, what would be your dream job?
Beau: Pro hockey or basketball player
18. What do you most want to achieve before old age kicks in?
Beau: To be able to slam dunk
19. If you could magically go back in time and be a part of the recording sessions for any one record in history, which would you choose?
Beau: Metallica – Black Album
20. What, for you, is the meaning of life??
Beau: To be happy and healthy and to do what you LOVE for a living.
