PARADE to Host Exclusive World Premiere of Sarah Darling’s New Music Video
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Friday, June 28, 2013) – Join the PARADE in blasting the “Soundtrack to Summer 2013” — Sarah Darling‘s sunshiny poolside anthem, “Little Umbrellas.” America’s most widely read magazine will host the online exclusive World Premiere of the new music video on Monday, July 1 at 12 p.m. EDT on the homepage of their official site,PARADE.com. The fresh, upbeat single, “Little Umbrellas,” impacted country radio this week and is now available on iTunes, Amazon and other digital retailers worldwide.
Bikini-clad and margarita in-hand, Darling’s music video just may surprise you as she takes a detour from her serious demeanor and joins her girlfriends poolside for some full-blown summertime fun. Produced by Stokes Nielson, the video paints a scenic portrait of “Little Umbrellas,” which has been called “Darling’s strongest single to-date,” by Sirius XM‘s John Marks and “a spirited and light-hearted, groove-filled summer song,” by Roughstock.
Having caught the attention of Nashville’s industry and country music lovers nationwide without ever releasing a full-length album, Darling thanks her fans for getting her past three music videos (“Blackbird,” “Something To Do With Your Hands,” and “Home To Me”) to the No. 1 spot on CMT Pure, and already showing passionate support for “Little Umbrellas.”
“I have the most amazing fans in the world,” she says, “They’re the ones responsible for my success, and I hope to repay them by continuing to release music that inspires them.”
Since parting ways with Black River Entertainment, which backed her former single “Home To Me” and secured performances on CONAN, ABC’s The Bachelor and Scotty McCreery‘s Weekend Road-trip Tour, Darling will continue to release new music she believes in to fans independently as she explores a new label partnership.
In a story picked up this week by Rolling Stone, Darling tells Yahoo! Music‘s Wendy Geller, “My next record will be one that defines me… and I’m going to make sure it does, no matter how long it takes. ‘Little Umbrellas’ shows a different side of me — it’s much lighter than a lot of the songs I’ve written/recorded in the past — but it allows me to let loose and have fun!”
“There’s no doubt I’m exactly the same artist I’ve always been,” she adds, “But I hope to show more of myself now that I have the true freedom to completely express myself.”
