CIRCA ZERO Announces First-Ever Public Performance At The El Rey In Los Angeles
Newly formed rock group CIRCA ZERO–comprised of guitarist ANDY SUMMERS (The Police) and singer/bassist/guitarist ROB GILES (The Rescues, solo artist)–have announced their debut public performance will take place Thursday, July 25 at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles. Tickets for the headlining show are available now here.
Rounded out with Canadian drummer EMMANUELLE CAPLETTE, the band formed in late 2012 and have recently finished the songs for their forthcoming full-length album CIRCUS HERO–expected in early 2014–at SUMMERS’ Venice, CA studio. CIRCA ZERO has released a short video to introduce themselves to the world and offer a short teaser to a new track “No Highway;” watch it now here.
CIRCA ZERO began when a mutual friend invited SUMMERS to a few of GILES’ shows with The Rescues. SUMMERS was immediately impressed by GILES’ great vocals as well as his multi-instrumental capability. The two got together to kick around song ideas, and after their first jam session decided it was imperative that they record together. CIRCA ZERO–the band name reflects a new beginning or fresh start–didn’t have any definitive musical agenda in mind but instead, following their muse, they began creating edgy lyrical rock songs both familiar and new, modern and classic.
ANDY SUMMERS says, “Finally, the El Rey! We can’t wait to get this out there.” “Andy and I just wanted to write rock songs that we wanted to hear but couldn’t find anywhere,” shares ROB GILES. “It’s almost shocking to think we get to play them for an audience.”
Additional tour dates will be announced shortly. Fans can sign up today at www.circazero.com to receive updates and be among the first to hear advance music.
