TESSERACT Enter the Billboard Top 200 Charts at # 94!

June 5, 2013 (Los Angeles, CA) – Last week saw the release of the premiere UK progressive rock band TESSERACT‘s Altered State via Century Media Records.  The album shifted 4,123 copies entering the Billboard Top 200 Chart at #94 as well as #88 on the Billboard Top Current Albums Chart and #4 on the Hard Music Chart.

The band recently premiered the video for the song “Singularity”. For their video the band worked with directing team “Horsie In The Hedge” brought together Bafta nominated and Emmy award winning director of photography Mark Wolf (Blue Planet) and Richard Van den Bergh’s team at Evolution VFX (Skyfall) in order to create a visually arresting and cerebrally stimulating music video. The video embraces and celebrates real life practical visual effects, prosthetics and make-up in stark contrast to most modern CGI laden horror / science fiction works. “Can experiences in the mind, if perceived intensely enough, cause manifestations in reality?” is the question driving this exploration of the darker side of the human imagination. The video is deliberately left open to interpretation but also proposes “What if this was possible… and what if foreign entities used this methodology as a conduit for cross-species reproduction…”  Check out the video HERE.

‘Altered State‘ is divided into four movements: Of Matter, Of Mind, Of Reality and Of Energy,‘Altered State‘ represents the transformations that TESSERACT has gone through over the past few years.  The Law of Conservation of Energy states that: In a closed system energy is conserved, nothing is lost. It merely changes from one state to another.

‘Altered State‘ was produced, mixed, mastered and engineered by TESSERACT guitarist, Acle Kahney, assisted by bassist, Amos Williams at Acle’s 4D Sounds studio, and marks the first full release with new vocalist, Ashe O’Hara.
