THIRTY SECONDS TO MARS’ LOVE LUST FAITH + DREAMS OUT TODAY
THIRTY SECONDS TO MARS will celebrate today’s release of its new album LOVE LUST FAITH + DREAMS with performances on the outdoor stage of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” tonight and on “Conan” tomorrow, May 22. The band will kick off an international summer tour at Impact Fest 2013 in Warsaw, Poland on June 5.
Lead single “Up In The Air” is a Top 5 hit at Modern Rock radio and is also climbing at the Active Rock format. The first copy of “Up In The Air” was carried aboard the recent SpaceX cargo mission to the International Space Station, where it was given a groundbreaking premiere in space by the astronauts. The short film “Up In The Air” has more than five million views. In the weeks leading up to the release of LOVE LUST FAITH + DREAMS, THIRTY SECONDS TO MARS previewed the new songs in a series of shows at intimate U.S. venues and during performances at the KROQ Weenie Roast and LIVE 105’s BFD. Entertainment Weekly awarded LOVE LUST FAITH + DREAMS an A-, noting: “throbbing modern-rock anthems ‘Up in the Air’ and ‘Bright Lights’ offer visceral, hands-up hedonism.” “Thirty Seconds to Mars are white-hot right now,” said The Huffington Post while People observed: ”Jared Leto’s band takes off into the U2 stratosphere,” featuring “Up in the Air” in its “Hot Singles” column. Billboard noted the album was infused with “an even fuller sense of grandeur than heard on past releases” and singled out “Do or Die” as a “standout track.”
Written and recorded around the world from Europe, to India, to the band’s studio in California, LOVE LUST FAITH + DREAMS was produced by Jared Leto with previous collaborator Steve Lillywhite (U2, The Rolling Stones, Peter Gabriel) co-producing four of the twelve tracks. The album is the follow-up to This Is War, which was hailed as “an artistic triumph” by Alternative Press and “a shimmering epic” by MTV.com. It contained the No. 1 Modern Rock radio hits “This Is War” and “Kings and Queens.”
THIRTY SECONDS TO MARS – comprising Jared Leto, Shannon Leto and Tomo Milicevic – has sold over five million albums worldwide and the band’s videos have more than 300 million views on YouTube. The group has received numerous awards, including a dozen MTV awards worldwide, a Billboard Music award and honors from NME, Kerrang! and Fuse.
