Finnish Metal Band to Issue Highly Anticipated New Album ‘Halo of Blood’ June 11

Finnish heavy metal superstars CHILDREN OF BODOM (aka COB) have set Halo of Blood as the title of their eighth studio album, set for a June 11 North American release via Nuclear Blast Records. The band’s vocalist and international guitar hero Alexi Laiho will be visiting Los Angeles on a promo tour next week in advance of Halo of Blood‘s release.

CHILDREN OF BODOM recorded Halo of Blood in Finland’s Danger Johnny Studios (located at a top secret, undisclosed location in Helsinki) with recording engineer Mikko Karmila, who worked with the band on their earlier albums Hatebreeder, Follow the Reaper and Hate Crew Deathroll and producer Peter Tägtgren (Marduk, Amon Amarth) who oversaw production of both vocals and keyboards on the record. Halo of Blood‘s striking cover art was created by artist Sam Saramäki, known for his work on classic COB records such as Follow the Reaper and Are You Dead Yet?.

Set to launch June 29 in San Bernardino, California, the five week trek will run through August 4 in Dallas, TX. CHILDREN OF BODOM‘s enthralling mix of modern heavy metal, melodic hooks and the instrumental acrobatics have solidified the critically acclaimed Finnish band as one of the most revered hard rock acts in the world and one of the leading voices of metal’s new generation.  The group’s superstar frontman / guitarist Alexi “Wildchild” Laiho is known worldwide for his ambitious guitar playing and was named “Best Metal Guitarist” by the readers of Guitar World. CHILDREN OF BODOM has been called “technically dazzling” by the New York Times and “One of the most talented metal bands of our time” by VICE. 15 years into its career, COB continues to grow its ever-expanding fan base via supercharged live shows that have also made fans of some of hard rock’s biggest names.
