DANNY KAYE COMMEMORATED AT LIBRARY OF CONGRESS EVENT ON TUESDAY, MARCH 19, 2013
On Tuesday night, March 19th, 2013 the Library of Congress hosted a special evening to celebrate the Centennial of legendary comedian, actor and humanitarian Danny Kaye and his wife Sylvia Fine Kaye. The event marked the launch of the Kaye family archives and website featuring 2,000 items from the Danny Kaye and Sylvia Fine collection, which lives in the Library’s Music Division.
Attendees of the evening’s event included U.S. Representatives Cohen, Dingell, Meadows, Mica, Nadler, Nolan, Petri, Shimkus and U.S. Senators Risch and Roberts. Highlights included personal remarks by Senator Chris Dodd, George Stevens Jr., Dena Kaye and a musical performance by five-time Grammy-nominated recording artist Michael Feinstein.
The event was produced by Scott Mauro Entertainment Inc. headed by Scott Mauro, Executive Producer of the DK Centennial celebration.
Dena Kaye will be in Washington DC for the rest of the week and will be doing a Q&A at the Library of Congress on Saturday, March 23rd.
