Opening with a blast of old school metal power on Crucifier, Crucified Barbara are back with a vengeance on The Midnight Chase.
A four-girl assault of guitar riffs, flailing hair and sweat, you might liken Crucified Barbara’s sound to The Donnas on turbocharged steroids after lifting weights for six months non stop. This is some mighty muscular music, my friends, however it never trades melody for noise, remaining hummably accessible at all times and, even at it’s most crushing and metal, the melodies are memorable.
Rules & Bones and If I Hide take their heavy signature sound and apply some atmospherics to create two wonderfully moody pieces of music.
Elsewhere there’s shadows of Motorhead’s combination of belligerent power and irresistibly catchy songwriting.
In Rock Me Like The Devil they have a worthy successor to guitar playing anthem Play Me Hard from their debut album, and Kid From The Upper Class’s punky riff quickly gives way to perhaps their catchiest tune to date.
If you like your Motorhead, Doro, or any hard n’ heavy music, then Crucified Barbara are for you, and they WILL rock you like the devil.
