Churchill working with Brendan O’Brien & Ryan Tedder; Announce SXSW & new tour while “Change” video and single stay hot
February 15, 2013 (Los Angeles – CA) Denver Quintet and Esquire “Band to Watch”, Churchill is currently recording with Grammy Award winning producer Brendan O’Brien (Pearl Jam, The Fray, Train) for the band’s upcoming A&M/Octone Records release due out this spring.
Blessed with two distinctive lead vocalists – Tim Bruns (vox/guitars) and Bethany Kelly (vox/piano), Churchill’s kaleidoscopic sound is driven by its expansive approach to songwriting and a strong musical chemistry. Tim Bruns and Mike Morter (mandolin/guitar) deliver the freewheeling alt-country vibe; Bethany adds sophisticated classical flourishes, Tyler Rima (bass) and Joe Richmond (drums) inject the rock attitude.
“We couldn’t be more excited to be working with Brendan O’Brien. He has made some of my favorite records of all time and I can’t wait to get the chance to work on music with him,” says Churchill’s Joe Richmond. “Up until this point we’ve have done all of our producing and recorded on our own, as a band and the chance to learn from and work with the best is a real honor.”
Churchill’s explosive hit single “Change” broke into the Top-3 at Triple-A radio. The chart position puts the band in the esteemed company of Mumford & Sons, Of Monsters and Men, Fun. and The Lumineers, among others. The song continues to climb into the Top-20 at Alternative radio, chosen as Rolling Stone’s Daily Download and was recently featured as iTunes’ “Single Of The Week” – two weeks in a row. The new video for “Change”, directed by Rich Lee, premiered on VEVO and was immediately added to MTV2 and The Freshman.
After wrapping up its own headlining tour, Churchill will begin a tour with acclaimed singer-songwriter Phillip Phillips on March 19 in Sioux Falls, North Dakota. The band’s high-energy and charismatic performances have earned rave reviews while attracting a growing number of fans. Those attending the shows are treated to a number of new songs destined for Churchill’s forthcoming upcoming full-length album, due out this Spring 2013 on A&M/Octone Records.
