SWEDISH HOUSE MAFIA TO THROW BLACK TIE RAVE AT HAMMERSTEIN BALLROOM FEB. 28TH TO BENEFIT HURRICANE SANDY RELIEF

| 11 December 2012 | Reply

(New York, NY – Dec. 11th, 2012) – SWEDISH HOUSE MAFIA have announced that they will throw a Black Tie Rave on February 28th at Hammerstein Ballroom to benefit Hurricane Sandy relief.  General Admission tickets to the event will be auctioned at http://www.ticketmaster.com starting on Dec. 14th at 10am EST through Dec. 16th at 10pm EST.  Starting bid is $100.00 per ticket and fans can purchase a minimum of 2 tickets and maximum of 4 tickets.

Swedish House Mafia will donate 100% of the net proceeds from the Black Tie Rave to the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City and the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund in support of hurricane relief efforts.  The Mayor’s Fund retains no administrative fee, and one hundred percent of donations are being dispersed to relief efforts organizations.  Funds will support immediate aid needs – including food, cleaning materials and hygiene supplies – as well as long-term relief and restoration.  New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and First Lady Mary Pat Christie launched the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund four days after Hurricane Sandy devastated the Garden State, to help communities recover, rebuild and come back stronger than before. For full information on the event, visit www.blacktierave.com.

“New York City has been a massive part of our journey and there was no better way to say thank you than to help out along with so many other worthwhile events. We had the night off in NYC before our Madison Square Garden gig…and what better way to spend it!” said Swedish House Mafia.

The group’s current single “Don’t You Worry Child” feat. John Martin has quickly become a huge global smash.  Last week it was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Dance Recording category and this week it will officially become gold in the U.S., surpassing sales of 500,000.  “Don’t You Worry Child” reached #1 on the Billboard club chart and is blowing up at Top 40 radio where it climbed to #16 this week.  Globally, DYWC has reached #1 in the UK, Sweden and Australia and top 10 in twelve other countries.  It has been #1 on Australia’s ARIA club chart for a record-breaking 14 weeks, making it the longest running #1 on the chart ever.  DYWC is 3x platinum in Australia and Norway and is platinum in Sweden and Canada and gold in the UK, Belgium and Switzerland.  To date, “Don’t You Worry Child” has sold over 1.2 million downloads and is still rapidly growing in many markets.  The video http://vevo.ly/OJMklQ has racked up over 31 million views.

“Don’t You Worry Child” is the lead single from the Swedes’ second compilation album ‘UNTIL NOW’ which was released on October 22nd and forms the official soundtrack to the group’s massive world-wide One Last Tour (www.onelasttour.com).  ‘UNTIL NOW’ rose to#4 on the iTunes album chart and debuted at #14 on the Billboard 200, marking the highest chart position and highest first week sales for a DJ-mixed album ever. The album debuted at #1 in the U.K. and top 10 in seven other countries.

One Last Tour, which is the group’s most extensive outing ever, started last month in Dubai and is currently making its way across Europe.  It will hit Eastern Europe, Russia, Asia, Southeast Asia, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Africa and Australia before reaching stateside in February.  The originally announced U.S. dates sold out in minutes which caused the band to add many additional shows.  The North American leg starts on Feb. 13th in San Francisco and will play Chicago, Toronto, Montreal, NYC, LA and Miami.   It was announced last month that the final curtain call for One Last Tour will happen at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami, marking a significant milestone in the group’s career together.  Ultra is where AxwellSteve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso played their first North American show together asSwedish House Mafia.  They will play both the opening night of the festival on March 15th and the closing on March 24th in what is sure to be an emotional farewell to the group’s millions of fans across the globe and promises to create unrivalled memories for fans and the group alike.  A full list of tour dates can be found below.
