Simply put, Peter Hook delivered the goods in Nashville on Saturday. Playing to a packed house at Brooklyn Bowl, he didn’t waste any time jumping straight into playing the New Order album Get Ready from start to finish. Having been a lifelong fan of both Joy Division and New Order, this show was a dream for me to get to cover—lots of moody lighting and sonic brilliance. “60 Miles an Hour” and “Here to Stay” were my favorite numbers during the first set. After taking a short break, He and the band returned to the stage and played some greatest hits and key songs from Joy Division. So many amazing moments in the second set, I don’t even know how to properly describe the set, but being able to hear “She’s Lost Control” and “Transmission” live was a high point in my music photography career.

Everyone in attendance was singing and dancing, and having a great chill evening with a Post-Punk Legend. Everything from the lighting to the stage performance was brilliant. Seeing musicians loving what they do is always a delight to me. You can truly feel their love of the craft and their energy wash over you. For anyone who is a fan of the Post-Punk genre, or really even the New Wave genre, or is simply just life lifelong Joy Division / New Order fan. For the 3 and a half hour show filled with 30 songs, I really could’ve listened to more. This show is one that you absolutely should not miss. I’m already counting down the days until the next tour.
